The Manchester Engineering Campus Development
(MECD) is a 81,000m² campus which includes state-of-the-art student spaces, teaching environments, lecture halls, laser labs (1161m²), dry
labs (8784m²), chemical labs (2412m²), biological labs (630 m²), characterisation labs (1141m²), workshops, cleanrooms, meeting rooms, conference, food and beverage, equipment/material storage and associated public realm.
The cleanroom space based in the basement of the building consistent of a suite of cleanrooms to ISO 6 classification with laminar flow hoods to ISO 3 classification.
Ceilings – Design and installation 600m² of walk-on ceilings with factory formed apertures and handrail to perimeter.
Partitions – Design, supply and installation of 1000m² of bi-panel partition and single faced liner panels with recessed base and fully flush pe-formed internal and external comers. Some partitions were 30-minute fire rated .
Doorset – Fully flush frame and vision panels with integrated concealed maglocks and traffic light system.
Windows – Fully flush partition windows and revealed windows to external corridor, some incorporating speak through panels to tech space.
