The project featured a high-specification clean-room envelope, including HEPA housings, specialised furniture, interlocking systems, and more.
PALL Corporation required a new Research & Development clean-room facility at their Harbour Gate site in Portsmouth. The facility needed to meet the flexibility demands for current and future campaigns while ensuring compliance with EN ISO 14644 standards. Additionally, the construction process had to avoid any disruption to adjacent sensitive clean-rooms and laboratories.
Asgard Controlled Environments was selected to design and construct the new Research & Development clean-room facility in collaboration with the PALL Research & Development team. This partnership ensured all client requirements were incorporated into the facility design.
The project involved stripping back an existing area of the facility to make way for the new clean-room suite. Asgard conducted an extensive survey of the site to identify services that could either be removed or diverted to create space for
the new systems and infrastructure.
The comprehensive turnkey delivery included:
- Complete design of the suite and associated services
- Dedicated HVAC system
- Specialised cooling and heating systems
- New power, lighting, and data distribution networks
- Installation of specialist gas systems
- Full architectural fit-out of the clean-room suite
- Networked Building Management System (BMS)
- Access control systems
- Fire detection systems
- Commissioning of all services
- Qualification and compliance verification
The result was a state-of-the-art Research & Development clean-room facility tailored to PALL Corporation’s current and future needs.
