A new ISO 4 cleanroom was to be designed and constructed within the ground floor extension at Carten Controls, Waterford. The new facility will be used to manufacture and test high performance valves that will be implemented in many prestigious sectors, such as Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical and Biotech.
Asgard Controlled Environments were responsible for delivering the full turnkey package of the ISO 4 cleanroom, this included the design, build, commissioning and validation. In order to achieve the high ISO classification, Asgard installed an FFU ceiling grid with roughly 80% coverage. The FFU’s contain U15 filters and deliver 300 air changes per hour within the main cleanroom. A new ErP complaint recirculating air handling unit has been installed, complete with a reverse cycle DX system to maintain the design room conditions.
