The Reckitt Science and Innovation Centre Cleanroom Facility was developed as part of a £105 million Centre of Scientific Excellence, one of only six such research and development facilities worldwide. The cleanroom space, located on Level 2, spans approximately 2,500m² of ISO 8 and 9 classified environments, designed to support advanced research and product development in a GMP-compliant setting.
The scope of work includes:
- Cleanroom Design & Construction – Full turnkey fit-out, including design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of cleanroom systems.
- Glazed Fabric – Strategically placed glazed doors and walling to optimise points of vision within the cleanroom space, enhancing visibility and workflow efficiency.
- ATEX-Controlled Room Integration – A seamlessly integrated ATEX and cleanroom design to ensure safety and compliance in a high-risk processing environment.
Key project outcomes:
- Delivered 2,500m² of ISO 8 and 9 cleanroom environments, supporting GMP-compliant research and production.
- Implemented a high-performance HVAC system, optimised for contamination control, temperature regulation, and energy efficiency.
- Ensured full regulatory validation, meeting industry best practices for pharmaceutical and healthcare research.
This project successfully provides a leading cleanroom facility, reinforcing Reckitt’s commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence in scientific research and development.
